The Steinway & Sons Model O, known as the “Living Room Grand,” is a 5′ 10¾” (180 cm) grand piano designed for home, studio, or smaller venue use. Introduced in the early 1900s, it serves as the largest of Steinway’s “small grands,” offering a rich, resonant, and balanced tone characteristic of larger instruments.

- Design & Size: Designed by Henry Ziegler to bridge the gap between smaller models and larger grand pianos, it measures approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches in length.
- Sound: Known for a powerful, clear, and “bell-like” tone, often favored for its deep bass and, for its size, an impressively full voice.
- Production History: Originally produced in the early 20th century, it was later replaced by the Model L, but was officially reintroduced in 2005 due to its enduring popularity.
- Construction: Features a Sitka spruce soundboard and, in modern versions, Steinway Renner action.
- Versatility: The Model O is also available as a Steinway Spirio, a high-resolution player piano.
