Combination snare wires, Linear-Drive strainer, and multi snare frame

Starphonic field drums leverage a unique combination of snare wires to provide a vibrant tone and response. The three wire types include nickel-wound guitar strings, nylon-coated stainless steel straight wires, and hi-carbon coil snares all working together. The snares are controlled by TAMA’s patented Linear-Drive system, which offers greater control and precision than standard levers. This system also gets rid of that “slap” noise from wires hitting the bottom head, even when rapidly turning the snare on. The Starphonic’s snare wires stay in place thanks to the Multi Snare Frame, which holds them so they come straight off the bearing edge for a supreme response.

Hardware makes tuning and replacing heads a breeze

Instead of using single- or multi-flanged hoops, the Starphonic Bravura uses a Grooved Straight Hoop unique to TAMA drums. This proprietary hoop combines the openness of a single flange with the tuning stability of a multi-flanged hoop, giving players full access to the head’s entire playing surface. The Grooved Hoop, combined with TAMA’s Freedom Lugs and claw hooks, also makes tuning and replacing heads a cinch. Just loosen the tension rods and tilt the claw hooks away from the hoop for a speedy replacement. And you can do it without having to take out the tension rods from the lugs!
