Having cemented its title as the world’s largest piano maker in the past 60 years, Pearl River is a company that’s clearly putting out very high-value musical instruments. There are several piano brands that get manufactured at the Pearl River facility in Guangzhou, China, but the EU122 model is one that not only bears the ‘Pearl River’ badge on its fallboard, but has received more attention than any other upright the factory produces.

The EU122 is 48” tall, which makes it a great size for pretty well all playing situations. This is the height of piano which many teachers will recommend to their students, since the string length and soundboard size will be able to handle a large variety of repertoire

The EU122 is a part of Pearl River’s ‘European Series’ and which means that piano shoppers will be able to access a full-size upright piano with European stylings and influence for an affordable price

Some of the premium features which the EU122 comes equipped with include: a hard maple back frame with strategically positioned backposts, German Roslau wire, imported German hammer felt, a 17-ply maple pinblock, and a soft close fallboard. It’s very uncommon to find all of these features on a piano under 10k, so hats off to Pearl River

Another important point to note about Pearl River’s piano operation is that they don’t outsource production on parts/components the way other manufacturers do. Pearl River makes their own hammers, actions, strung backs, etc. to retain as much quality control as possible
