The Kawai GL-10 is a 5’0″ (153 cm) baby grand piano designed to offer premium performance in a compact size, featuring the Millennium III action with carbon fiber components for superior touch and stability. It is highly regarded for its rich tone, solid spruce tapered soundboard, and excellent value, making it suitable for smaller spaces.

Action: Millennium III Action with ABS-Carbon parts, which are lighter, stronger, and more stable than wood.
Dimensions: 5’0″ (153 cm) length, 59″ (150 cm) width, and 40″ (102 cm) height.
Soundboard: Solid spruce, tapered for optimal resonance.
Design: Features a “Soft Fall” fallboard, brass casters, and a V-Pro plate for stability.
Keys: Longer key sticks for easier playability and a more even response, with acrylic/phenol key surfaces.
Bridge: Hardwood bridge made of solid maple or beech.

Design and Performance
The GL-10 is frequently cited for its durability, owing to its ABS-Carbon technology, which makes the action resistant to shrinking and swelling caused by humidity changes. It offers a “Rigid Foundation” with an aluminum hammer rail to ensure a consistent, precise touch. The piano is produced with a 3-pedal assembly (damper, sostenuto, soft).

Finishes: Available in Polished Ebony, Mahogany, White, Satin Ebony, and French Polished Mahogany.
Assembly: While many critical components are crafted in Japan, the GL-10 is assembled in Indonesia.
